The Master Bedroom Reveal

Friday, October 12, 2012

When we moved into this house, we decided to make renovating our master bedroom the first priority. We knew the house would require lots of projects, so we thought it would be a good idea to at least have one room that would not drive us (me) crazy. I must admit that I do not enjoy living in chaos... I don't even like clutter. The thought of having multiple rooms in disarray is not a fun thought, so I needed a place to retreat. All I'm saying is that it's nice to have a place to sleep each night that doesn't have ladders, sandpaper, drop cloths, paint cans, and tools everywhere. Surprisingly, having the master completed also provided inspiration and motivation because it showed us the possibility of what we hope to accomplish throughout the entire house.

Project List:

  • Remove Popcorn Ceiling (we vowed to never do this again)
  • Paint Walls, Trim & Doors
  • Replace Ceiling Fan (used one that was hanging in the kitchen)
  • Install Plantation Blinds
  • Hang Curtains
  • Hang Pictures/Art
  • Replace Electrical Wall Outlets to White (so the switches and covers matched)

Before & After
