Farmhouse Table Part 2

After we finished priming and painting the frame of the table, we began to work on the top. First, we had to determine what pattern we wanted for the top and we settled on 2 x 6’s that run the length of the table and 2 x 8’s  on each end. We used the framing to screw all of the boards into place.

The next part was our least favorite - sanding. I do not recommend sanding anything in an apartment (because of the noise and the mess), but considering we didn't have any other option we just went for it. As you'll see below, our kitchen counters accumulated quite a bit of dust and we had to clean multiple days thereafter as the dust settled.
